Yellow Ribbon Ceremony

The day before the 8th grader's departure to Washington D.C., a Yellow Ribbon Ceremony was held. In this ceremony, the 8th graders take a long yellow ribbon and wrap it around the old cypress tree to signify their departure. As they wrap the ribbon around the tree, the 5th through 7th graders watch as the 8th graders sing "Tie a Yellow Ribbon."
